US Centcom says Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at troops

US Central Command (Centcom) said on Tuesday that Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles in an “attempted surprise attack on US forces based in the Middle East.”

"All Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted," Centcom said in a statement to X, adding that "forces remain vigilant and at a high state of readiness."

Axios also reported on Tuesday that Iran launched ballistic missiles towards a US Base in Jordan, citing a US official.

At 5:45 p.m. ET today, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces launched multiple ballistic missiles from Iran in an attempted surprise attack on U.S. forces based in the Middle East.
