Isro chief hails Vikram-1 success as landmark for India's private space sector
Describing the mission as a historic first, Narayanan said it marked the first time a privately developed Indian rocket had successfully been placed into orbit. "This is the first successful attempt by an Indian private rocket to reach orbit.
