Twenty firefighters were taken to hospital after a huge explosion during a major industrial fire at Highlands Farm near East Hanningfield, Essex.
The blast, which involved fertiliser stored inside one of the units, destroyed three fire engines and two officer cars.
More than 100 firefighters were deployed as flames spread across several industrial units and surrounding farmland.
Four firefighters suffered minor injuries, while the others underwent precautionary assessments, including checks for possible hearing damage.
All 20 have since been discharged from hospital.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service Chief Fire Officer Rick Hylton described it as one of the service’s most challenging and complex incidents in recent years.
The fire is now under control, crews remain at the scene tackling hotspots, and a formal investigation into the cause has begun.
