An iconic Hollywood theatre is reopening, just in time for a film revival

Pacific Theaters, which operates some 300 screens in California, including the beloved ArcLight theaters and the historic Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, said Monday that it will not be reopening.

Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced plans to restore L.A.'s iconic Cinerama Dome to its former glory and reopen it in early 2028 — just as movie theatres show signs of emerging from a years-long decline in ticket sales.
