An animal rescuer from Winnipeg was found dead, with stray dogs around her, while volunteering 180 km northwest of the city in Sandy Bay First Nation, M.B.
37-year-old Amanda Nobiss, who worked with K9 Advocacy Manitoba, was tragically killed doing the work she loved; rescuing, feeding, spaying and neutering stray dogs.
Debra Vandekerkhove, the managing director of a rescue group called the Manitoba Animal Alliance says this is “a very tough loss… The nation loves her.
People love her."
The animal rescue community is calling for help with the overpopulation of stray dogs in Manitoba, and Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation says it’s aware of the issue.
Toni De Guzman has more on Amanda's work and the help these organizations are looking for.
