Three killed in Moscow restaurant bombing

Three people died and at least 21 others were injured after a homemade explosive device detonated outside an Italian restaurant in central Moscow on Saturday evening, according to Russian authorities.

Investigators said the blast happened after a woman carrying the device tried to enter the Balzi Rossi restaurant during a private event but was stopped by security.

The explosion took place shortly before 8pm local time at the Balzi Rossi restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square, one of Moscow's landmark Stalin-era skyscrapers.
