Padilla chief of staff confirms resigning before impeachment trial

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Robin Padilla’s former top aide Rudolf Philip Jurado on Tuesday confirmed his resignation as the senator’s chief of staff.

In a statement sent to the Inquirer, Jurado said he tendered his resignation as early as June 22, even before the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte began on July 6.
