Strong earthquake hits southwest China
A magnitude 5.2 earthquake has struck China's Guangxi region, killing at least two people and forcing the evacuation of over 7,000 residents.
The tremor caused more than a dozen buildings to collapse in the city of Liuzhou, with search and rescue operations still ongoing.
Local authorities reported that the quake hit early Monday, injuring several others and disrupting regional transport networks.
Emergency teams are working to restore power and water services to the affected areas as aftershocks continue to rattle the province.
