Eight Shot, Including Children, at Coney Island July 4 Gathering

At least eight people were shot, including four children, during Fourth of July festivities in Brooklyn's Coney Island late Saturday night.

A 21-year-old woman was critically wounded after being shot in the chest, and all victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The shooting occurred during a large public gathering celebrating the Independence Day holiday, sending crowds fleeing in panic.

Police have launched a manhunt for the gunman, but no arrests have been made as of early Sunday morning.
