Typhoon Noul Threatens Southern China

Hong Kong International Airport suspended operations as the typhoon's outer bands lashed the city, causing widespread disruption.

Authorities issued the highest storm warning, closing schools and businesses along the coast.

In Guangdong province, emergency shelters were opened for those displaced from low-lying areas.

The storm, packing winds over 120 km/h, was forecast to weaken once inland but still threatened flooding and landslides.
