Nigerian Forces Rescue Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

Nigerian security forces rescued pupils and teachers abducted from a school in Oyo State, with one police officer killed during the operation.

Freed captives revealed that kidnappers washed their clothes when they started to smell, countering claims the abduction was staged.

The rescue operation was part of a broader security crackdown that also saw soldiers kill two terrorists and rescue three kidnap victims in Benue State.

The Nigerian Navy separately dismantled 48 illegal refinery sites and arrested 91 suspects in an anti-oil theft operation.
