Hertz launches Oro Mobility unit

Hertz Global Holdings has announced the creation of Oro Mobility, a specialized affiliate dedicated to managing fleet operations for autonomous vehicle platforms.

The new unit will initially focus on supporting Uber's robotaxi service in the San Francisco Bay Area, providing essential services such as vehicle charging, cleaning, and technical maintenance.

Oro Mobility will also handle staffing for Lucid-Nuro autonomous vehicles, marking a significant expansion of the existing partnership between Hertz and Uber.

Hertz executives stated that the move is part of a broader strategy to position the company as a leading provider of fleet management solutions for the rapidly evolving mobility sector.
