Second Ukrainian arrested over Nord Stream sabotage

German prosecutors said a Ukrainian man, described as a trained scuba diver, was arrested in Croatia over the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions.

The arrest is the second in the sabotage investigation, and the suspect is expected to be extradited to Germany.

The man is accused of being part of a team that placed explosives on the pipelines in the Baltic Sea.

The explosions damaged the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, which were built to carry Russian gas to Europe.
