Fire Kills at Least 15 Students in Lucknow

A devastating fire tore through a commercial building housing an animation coaching centre in Lucknow, India, on Monday, killing at least 15 people, mostly students.

The blaze erupted in the Aliganj area and thick smoke trapped many inside, prompting desperate escape attempts.

Dramatic images showed people jumping from the building and sliding down wires to save their lives.

The Uttar Pradesh chief minister has formed a special investigation team and cancelled scheduled events in the wake of the tragedy.
