Mancini Returns as Italy Head Coach

Roberto Mancini has been appointed as Italy's head coach for a second spell, tasked with rebuilding the national team after they failed to qualify for the last three FIFA World Cups.

The 61-year-old, who led the Azzurri to European Championship glory in 2021 before shockingly resigning in 2023, replaces Gennaro Gattuso.

Claudio Ranieri has also been named as the federation's new technical director, coming out of retirement at almost 75.

The appointment ends a week of turmoil for the Italian Football Federation following Paolo Maldini's resignation.
