Mudryk banned for doping

Chelsea's £88 million signing Mykhailo Mudryk has been hit with a four-year ban from professional football following a positive test for a banned substance.

The Ukrainian international reportedly tested positive for meldonium during a routine check while on international duty.

Mudryk has officially filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), maintaining that the substance was ingested unknowingly.

The ban, if upheld, would likely end Mudryk's career at Chelsea and represents a massive financial blow to the club, which has not seen the player feature since late 2024.
