North Korea Blasts ASEAN for Denuclearisation Call

Kim Yo-jong, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, launched a scathing attack on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations for its call to denuclearise the Korean peninsula.

She described ASEAN's position as 'stupid and foolish' and vowed that North Korea's nuclear arsenal would be updated steadily.

The rebuke came as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited war cemeteries to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War armistice.

The tensions on the Korean peninsula remain high, with both Koreas reportedly racing to build nuclear-powered submarines.
