Rough seas strand passengers in Western Visayas

The ports of Iloilo, Bacolod and Roxas reported that ferries were forced to cancel departures as wave heights exceeded two metres.

Stranded travelers were provided with temporary shelters, food packs and medical assistance by local government units.

The Philippine Coast Guard deployed patrol boats to ferry people to safety and issued a weather advisory for the next 48 hours.

Officials warned that similar disruptions could recur if the southwest monsoon persists.
