Mass Shootings in Tucson and Minneapolis Injure 19

In Tucson, officers on routine foot patrol rushed toward the sound of gunfire at about 2 a.m. local time and shot the suspect, who had opened fire in a crowded entertainment area.

The Minneapolis shooting occurred around the same time in a downtown district, with nine people injured; no arrests have been reported.

Both incidents are the latest in a string of mass shootings in the United States.

Authorities have not yet identified motives or suspects in the Minneapolis case.
