Yamashita ties LPGA scoring record in Edmonton

Miyu Yamashita, one of the smallest players on the LPGA Tour, matched the tour's 72-hole scoring record en route to a dominant nine-stroke victory at the CPKC Women's Open in Edmonton.

The Japanese star led wire-to-wire at Royal Mayfair Golf Club.

Vancouver's Anna Huang posted a 5-under 65 to finish as the top Canadian at 12-under par, tied for fourth.

Yamashita's record-tying performance cemented her status as one of the tour's most formidable players.
