US and Iran trade fresh strikes

The United States military said it completed its latest wave of strikes against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets, including air defence sites and radar systems, in Iran.

The strikes came after Iran launched missile attacks in retaliation, targeting areas near the cities of Ahvaz and Aghajari.

Oil prices extended gains for a second day on concerns about supply disruption, with Brent crude futures rising above $95 a barrel.

European natural-gas prices also surged to their highest level since the end of 2022, while Asian markets tumbled as investors weighed the risk of a broader conflict.
