Police bust illegal cannabis farms in Bukidnon

The Bukidnon Police Regional Office, acting on intelligence from the National Bureau of Investigation, seized 1.2 tonnes of mature cannabis and arrested five growers who operated a hidden greenhouse on a former rice field.

Authorities also confiscated processing equipment and a cache of firearms believed to protect the operation.

The operation follows a recent executive order that increases penalties for large‑scale drug cultivation.

Community leaders have called for alternative livelihood programs to deter future illicit farming.
