Pakistan blast kills nine

At least nine people were killed and over 30 wounded when a bomb rigged to a rickshaw exploded in a bazaar in northwest Pakistan.

The attack occurred in the Lakki Marwat district, an area bordering Afghanistan that has seen a surge in militant violence.

Two traffic police officers and a woman were among the fatalities, according to local medical officials.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast, which has raised fears of further instability along the volatile border region.
