Cyclospora Cases Top 11,500, New Outbreak Probed

The US cyclosporiasis outbreak has surged past 11,500 confirmed cases across 41 states, far exceeding earlier estimates.

The FDA is also investigating a separate cyclospora outbreak with 72 cases that is not linked to lettuce, as salad restaurant traffic continues to decline.

Taylor Farms reportedly shut down the Mexican processing facility linked to the initial outbreak.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins sought to reassure the public that the food supply remains safe.
