Nigeria's Chukwuebuka Enekwechi won historic shot put gold, the country's first-ever men's title in the event at the Commonwealth Games.

Australia's Rose Davies became the first woman to complete the 5,000m and 10,000m double, while India's Neeraj Chopra scraped into the javelin final with a sub-80m throw.

India picked up a silver and a bronze on Day 7 but slipped to 10th in the medal standings.

The Games have also been marked by administrative lapses, including a delayed bicycle that nearly derailed para cyclist Lisha Das's event.
