Justin Verlander to Retire

Justin Verlander, the three-time Cy Young Award winner and two-time World Series champion, announced he will retire after this season.

The 43-year-old pitcher plans to finish his career with the Detroit Tigers, where he began.

Verlander returned to the Tigers this season on a one-year, $13 million contract.

He leaves the game as one of the most decorated pitchers in Major League Baseball history.
