Amazon Buys Globalstar for $11.6B

Amazon's takeover of Globalstar marks its largest acquisition since the purchase of Whole Foods in 2017.

The deal provides Amazon with a critical network of two dozen satellites and essential spectrum licenses to expand its Amazon Leo connectivity service.

Notably, the agreement also includes a partnership with Apple, which will source satellite services for its devices from Amazon's new unit.
