Iran Launches Drone Strikes on U.S. Bases in Kuwait

The Iranian army confirmed it had launched drone attacks on strategic U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, escalating the conflict that began with U.S. strikes on Iran.

The attacks came a day after the U.S. hit multiple locations in Iran, including Qeshm island, and followed an Iranian drone strike on Egypt's Damietta port.

Saudi Arabia responded by rallying a 14-nation maritime defence alliance to protect Red Sea shipping.

The widening war has sent oil prices surging and raised fears of a broader regional conflagration.
