India Dominates Boxing at Commonwealth Games

Indian boxers Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria won gold medals in the women’s 54kg and 57kg categories at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Pawar and Lamboria, both from Bhiwani, delivered India’s first two boxing golds of the Games on a historic day.

Lamboria comes from a rich boxing legacy, with her great-grandfather Captain Hawa Singh being one of India’s most celebrated boxers.

The victories added to India’s growing medal tally, with more boxing finals still to come.
