Myanmar military strike kills 14 at monastery

A Myanmar military airstrike on a Buddhist monastery in the country's central Sagaing region killed 14 people, including three women, who were taking part in a religious retreat.

The attack occurred on Friday, according to an opposition group.

The military has increasingly used airstrikes in its campaign against resistance forces, with a new UN report highlighting the use of low-cost aircraft to target civilians.

The strike has been condemned by human rights organizations as a potential war crime.
