Super Typhoon Maysak Batters Southern China

Typhoon Maysak made its first landfall on the southern island province of Hainan on Friday, becoming the first tropical cyclone to hit the Chinese mainland this year.

The storm then made a second landfall, bringing torrential rains that flooded a construction site in Guigang.

The heavy precipitation resulted in significant damage and disruption.
