Ryan Fox Wins British Open with Birdie on Final Hole

New Zealand's Ryan Fox secured his first major championship title with a dramatic birdie on the 18th hole at Royal Birkdale to win the 154th Open Championship by one stroke over Cameron Young.

The 39-year-old entered the tournament as a 200-1 outsider and had never previously finished in the top 10 at a major.

Fox's victory made him New Zealand's fourth major champion, sparking celebrations in his homeland where fans woke to the news.
