US-Saudi Nuclear Deal Signed

The Trump administration formally signed a landmark civilian nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia that could potentially allow the kingdom to enrich uranium, alarming nonproliferation experts and Israeli officials.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman signed the deal, which the U.S. insists includes nonproliferation safeguards.

The agreement had previously stalled over demands that Saudi Arabia normalize relations with Israel, a requirement that was dropped in the final deal.
