The International Trade Union Confederation – Africa (ITUC-Africa) has urged governments to make the shift to clean energy a pathway for decent jobs, fair wages and social protection.
The statement came ahead of the continent's upcoming climate summit, where labor unions are pushing for a just transition that does not leave workers behind.
ITUC-Africa emphasized that the green transition must be managed in a way that creates quality employment and supports social safety nets.
