Ford Recalls 1.4M F-150 Pickups

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a massive recall affecting Ford F-150 models produced between 2014 and 2017.

The recall targets a software glitch in the six-speed automatic transmission that can trigger a sudden shift into first gear regardless of speed.

Ford is aware of at least one accident and two injuries related to the defect.

Dealers will provide a free software update to the powertrain control module to mitigate the risk for affected owners.
