Typhoon Noul Slams China, Mass Evacuations

Typhoon Noul made landfall in southern China's Guangdong province, bringing ferocious winds and heavy rain that forced more than 715,000 people from their homes.

The strongest storm to hit China this year also lashed Hong Kong, causing widespread transport chaos.

At least 10 people were killed and over 700 flights were cancelled.

The typhoon made landfall in Huidong County with maximum sustained winds of 45 metres per second.
