American League franchise in Washington, D.C., 1901 to 1960

The Washington Senators were a Major League Baseball team based in Washington, D.C. It was one of the American League's eight charter franchises, founded in 1901. The Senators spent 60 seasons in Washington, winning three American League pennants and one World Series in 1924. The franchise relocated to Minneapolis in 1961 to become the present-day Minnesota Twins.
