Wildfire destroys more than 100 homes in Norway

A wildfire in Norway has destroyed more than 100 properties and forced hundreds of people to flee their homes.

About 80 firefighters were sent to tackle the blaze, which began on Friday afternoon in Drammen, in the south of the country.

The fire broke out in a row of houses in the city, which is about 30 miles west of Oslo.

More than 400 people were forced to leave the city’s Krokstadelva neighbourhood and stay in hotels, police said.

Footage showed enormous flames engulfing the hillside, reducing trees to charred stumps and houses to foundations.
