Several parishioners attending morning mass at a downtown church received wrongful parking tickets despite leaving their vehicles in a marked free-parking zone.
CTV's Dylan Dyson speaks with Saint Patrick Basilica rector Father Steve Amesse, who says four cars parked on Nepean Street were ticketed just minutes before the free period ended.
Ottawa Bylaw issued a statement confirming the tickets were a mistake caused by human error and immediately cancelled the fines after identifying the problem.
Church members like Lois Duncan worry that parking enforcement will become overly aggressive when the city implements new downtown traffic rules on Sept. 1.
