Cherie DeVaux's family drives together to see her make Kentucky Derby history
Cherie DeVaux's family piled into a big white van and drove from New York to Louisville to watch Golden Tempo run in the Kentucky Derby.
The 14-hour drive turned out to be more than worth it when Golden Tempo ran down rivals down the stretch to win.
DeVaux became the first woman to train a Derby winner and just the second in any Triple Crown race after Jena Antonucci won with Arcangelo in the 2023 Belmont Stakes.
Adrianne DeVaux chronicled the journey on social media with the hashtag #devauxsonthegeaux.
They were ready to begin the long journey back Sunday.
