Gilmore Girls Star 'Dated' Multiple On-Screen Love Interests
On an episode of the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5LDD6_ahIg" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Call Her Daddy podcast, https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/gilmore-girls/">Gilmore Girls star https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/gilmore-girls-lauren-graham-netflix-pay_uk_67dd912ae4b0712c45273420">Lauren Graham shared that she’d taken some of her on-screen romances off-script.
In the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5LDD6_ahIg" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">2025 recording, host Alex Cooper asked the actor – who played Lorelai in the hit show – which of her characters’ on-screen love interests she enjoyed the most.
“I mean, Luke [Dane, played by Scott Patterdale] is the right answer, for sure,” Lauren replied.
Alex pressed her on her dating history, saying, “You previously said you did not date Scott Patterson, who plays Luke in the show.
But you did date a couple of the other guys on the set of Gilmore Girls.
Was it anyone that Lorelai ever dated?”
The actor’s response was straightforward: “Yes.
“And ‘dating’ is a real big word for some of the experiences” (OK, plural!).
“But, you know, you’re there 14, 15 hours; who else are you going to meet?”
The Parenthood actor https://people.com/lauren-graham-reveals-shes-dated-some-of-her-gilmore-girls-characters-exes-11707707" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">also said that she would sometimes fib about her dating life to the press, who could grill her on the topic during her Gilmore Girls years.
“It always feels weird to be asked, and many times I was lying because it such a strange thing to talk about — which I still mainly don’t talk about,” she explained.
“[Romance and dating is] something that you don’t know what’s going to happen.
I think some people are built for it, some people don’t find it personally vulnerable.
And it was also, I have to say, it wasn’t my focus at the time, so it felt strange.
Like, I’m a working person and I’m in a career and I don’t know.
It just was odd.”
She didn’t name any of the people she’d dated, in real life, however.
But just in case it’s of any interest, Lorelai’s full list of on-screen beaus includes:
- Max Medina (Scott Cohen),
- Christopher Hayden (David Sutcliffe),
- Alex Lesman (Billy Burke),
- Jason Stiles (Chris Eigeman),
- Luke Danes (Scott Patterson).
Lauren has confirmed she didn’t have a romantic relationship with Patterson, however.
