Doha calls strike on Lebanese army patrol a ‘dangerous escalation’

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli attack on a Lebanese army patrol that killed two officers and a soldier, describing it as a “dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of the sovereignty” of Lebanon.

In a statement, the ministry called on the international community to compel Israel to halt what it described as repeated attacks on Lebanon, respect international law and fully implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Qatar also reaffirmed its support for Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as efforts to strengthen the country’s stability and prosperity.
