Chicago police watchdog investigating officer shooting in suburban Country Club Hills

Investigators were on the scene of a shooting involving a police officer Tuesday evening in southwest suburban Country Club Hills, according to a social media post from Chicago's Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

No details were provided about the incident unfolding at 118th Street and Loretto Lane.

The Country Club Hills police and fire departments, along with the Chicago Police Department, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability, which investigates shootings involving Chicago police officers, released the statement confirming an investigation.

The agency also did not respond to a request for comment.

Several federal agencies, including the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, were on scene, according to a Chicago Sun-Times photographer on the scene of the shooting.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the photographer saw a woman in handcuffs handed over to Country Club Hills police by FBI agents.

The circumstance of the arrest were unclear.
