Premier Tim Houston is continuing his summer tour of Nova Scotia – despite being swarmed by protesters.
The rally turned violent as Houston was trying to leave an event in Wolfville yesterday and now police are looking to identify those involved.
In a video posted to his social media, Houston says he respects the right of the public to share their opinion and peacefully protest and how that isn’t what occurred on Wednesday.
“In trying to leave the venue, my vehicle and my team’s vehicles were swarmed by rioters – they blocked us in.
They were pushing law enforcement, climbed on top of the car I was in,” The premier said.
As Skye Bryden-Blom reports, a man who filmed the confrontation says the rally offered the chance to be heard on issues like the environment and indigenous rights.
