A teenage girl and a woman in her 40s have died after a group got into difficulty at a popular beach in Essex.

Emergency services were called to the incident at West Mersea late yesterday afternoon.
Three other people are in hospital, one in a serious condition.
The police say they think the two people who died did know each other, and have asked people to avoid the area while they investigate.
