Jim Jarvis is doing something almost no rookie has done this season

When the Atlanta Braves recalled rookie infielder Jim Jarvis from Triple-A on July 2, the organization was searching for stability at shortstop.

Just a few weeks later, Jarvis has done much more than simply fill a position—he has become one of the club’s hottest hitters.

Before Atlanta’s series in Pittsburgh earlier this month, Jarvis was asked about the opportunity to prove he belonged in the major leagues.
