The four Artemis II astronauts have spoken at NASA's Johnson Space Center, in Houston, Texas, following their record-breaking 10-day mission around the moon.
Pilot Victor Glover said: "The gratitude of seeing what we saw, doing what we did and being who I was with, it's too big."
Mission specialist Christina Koch said their impressions of "tiny Earth" wasn't just our planet, but "all the blackness around it".
Earth was like a "lifeboat", she said, adding: "Planet Earth - you are a crew."
