Pigeons may be navigating with their liver, study suggests

Scientists say they are closer to unravelling the mystery about how pigeons manage to find their way home, no matter how far away they are taken from it.

New research suggests they might be using iron rich immune cells in their livers to detect Earth’s magnetic field and help them navigate.
