Ottawa residents are celebrating the city's 200th anniversary by taking over community centres and parks for National Health and Fitness Day.

CTV's Camille Wilson speaks with roommates Rachael Mohl and Abbie Crawford, who are participating in the Sports 200 initiative by trying out pickleball and table tennis.

Ottawa Sports Council executive director Frances Mercer says the weekend features more than 1,200 participants across 40 locations to help build the community through sport.

The initiative offers over 100 free opportunities.
