Nigel Farage referenced the Henry Nowak case during a Reform UK speech as he attacked the state of policing and backed Colin Sutton, Reform UK’s candidate in the Norfolk police and crime commissioner by-election.
Speaking to supporters, the Reform UK leader claimed police forces had moved away from being “tough, respected enforcers of the law” and warned that some approaches to policing risked causing “division, resentment and disaster”.
Farage also said people should be treated equally by police and the law, regardless of background.
The comments came as Farage campaigned for Colin Sutton, a former senior detective, ahead of the Norfolk police and crime commissioner by-election.
The speech also touched on wider concerns around crime, rural policing, public trust and the direction of law and order in Britain.
